Color vibrance in Photoshop

The Vibrance control in Adobe Camera Raw is really nice. It seems to boost the color of the less saturated parts of the image, giving a nice even colorful image. But it is not accessible directly from Photoshop. Here is a way to emulate the effect by making a saturation mask.

Notice how the bright flowers are unaffected by the saturation boost, while the green background and the rest of the image gets more saturated.
I have also made it into an action which you can download at the end of the page.
